Author Gillian Flynn definitely has a hot hand right now. Her mystery novel Gone Girl is being adapted into a film and recently caught the eye of Fight Club and The Social Network director David Fincher, and an adaptation of another of her books, Dark Places, is back in the news today. Amy Adams was set to star in the thriller when the project was first announced back in May of last year, but now Deadline is reporting that Adams has fallen away from the movie and Charlize Theron is in talks to step in as a replacement. It’s a shame that Adams had to bail here, but swapping an A-list actress for another seems like a good trade. The intriguing story follows a young Kansas girl named Libby who witnesses the massacre of her mother and sister, testifies against her brother as the murderer, and is visited 25 years later …
